Operating Manual
Installation & Operation
-
Before installation, carefully check whether any hard foreign objects are present in the pump flow passage to avoid damaging the impeller and casing during operation.
-
Install regulating valves on the inlet and outlet pipelines of the GBL vertical concentrated sulfuric acid chemical pump to ensure the pump operates within the rated operating range.
-
Open the inlet valve to allow the liquid to fill the entire pump chamber.
-
Connect the power supply. When the pump reaches normal speed, gradually open the valve on the discharge pipeline and adjust it to the required operating condition.
-
Check the temperature rise of the motor and bearings (≤70°C). If any abnormality is found, stop the pump immediately for inspection.
-
It is strictly forbidden to operate the mechanical seal under dry-running conditions.
Preparation Before Start-Up
-
Check the motor rotation direction. Viewed from the top of the motor toward the pump end, it should rotate clockwise. The test run shall be as short as possible to prevent dry-friction damage to the mechanical seal.
-
Open the vent valve to fill the pump casing with liquid; close the vent valve once the pump is full.
-
Check all parts to confirm normal condition.
-
Rotate the pump shaft by hand to allow lubricating liquid to enter the mechanical seal faces.
Start-Up
-
Fully open the inlet valve.
-
Close the discharge valve.
-
Start the motor and observe whether the pump operates correctly.
-
Adjust the discharge valve opening according to the required operating condition. If a flow meter or pressure gauge is installed at the pump outlet, adjust the outlet valve opening to ensure the pump operates at the rated duty point specified in the parameter table. Measure the motor current and ensure it does not exceed the rated value; otherwise, the pump may overload and damage the motor. The correct valve opening depends on actual piping conditions.
-
Check for shaft seal leakage. Under normal conditions, mechanical seal leakage should be less than 3 drops per minute.
OEM & Custom
We offer OEM and ODM customization for GBL vertical sulfuric acid pumps, including material optimization for specific acid concentrations, custom mechanical seals, and specialized coatings. Pumps can be adapted for unique industrial processes requiring chemical stability, high temperature resistance, and precision control.
FAQs
- Q1: What is the GBL vertical sulfuric acid pump used for?
It is designed for transferring concentrated sulfuric acid and other corrosive liquids in chemical, petroleum, and metallurgical industries. - Q2: What materials are used in the GBL pump?
