Product Overview
QHYB-CDL Variable Frequency Constant-Pressure Water Supply System (equipped with CDLF stainless steel multistage centrifugal pumps) is a new towerless water supply solution. It consists of three main parts: pump units, control system, and pressure-stabilizing booster unit. The pump units determine supply capacity; the control system ensures coordinated operation; the booster/stabilizing unit stores energy and maintains pressure to handle small water demand and normal pipeline leakage, and it is also essential for automatic control. When large water consumption occurs and the pipeline pressure drops, the pumps start automatically to supply water.
According to different working modes, QHYB-CDL systems can be divided into pneumatic (pressure-tank) water supply systems and VFD (variable-frequency) water supply systems, each with its own features. They are widely used for domestic water supply, firefighting, industrial production, sprinkler systems, and other applications.
The pump is the foundation of the whole system and the key guarantee of its water-supply capability. The matching pumps are universal and can be selected with suitable flow rate and head. Depending on required flow and head, the system can operate 1–4 or more pumps in parallel. A separate booster/stabilizing small-flow pump group can switch with the main pumps within a low-flow range to improve efficiency and further reduce energy consumption.
Depending on working mode and application, the system can be configured as domestic type, firefighting type, sprinkler type, or combined domestic & firefighting type.
Selection Basis
The basic criteria for selecting an automatic water supply system are the designed supply flow rate and supply pressure (water head). The flow-variation pattern of the application should also be considered.
Continuous Type: Flow is rarely zero during a day, or normal pipeline leakage maintains a certain flow rate, such as pressurization systems for large hotels, restaurants, and industrial/mining enterprises.
Intermittent Type: Long low-demand periods with very small or zero flow, such as small office buildings, commercial-residential buildings, various residences, and production water use.
Flow changes within specific supply periods, seasonal variations, and regional differences in water demand should also be taken into account.
For firefighting sprinkler water supply systems, pneumatic systems are generally recommended. Since they remain in a pressure-holding state for long periods with no flow variation, they can handle normal pipeline leakage. With an additional small-flow auxiliary pump, the main pumps do not need to start during standby operation, saving energy.
Advantages of VFD Water Supply Systems: Constant-pressure water supply with adjustable pressure setpoint within a certain range; pressure accuracy is typically better than 0.02 MPa. VFD speed control is a highly efficient energy-saving method, saving about 20% on average compared with conventional pneumatic systems. In addition, VFD starting reduces inrush current and water hammer impact, and provides lower noise at low speed.
Advantages of Pneumatic Water Supply Systems: Lower overall cost, simpler control technology, convenient service, and easy maintenance.
