Product Overview
SPG Vertical Clean Water Pipeline Shield Pump adopts advanced design and manufacturing technology from shielded pipeline pumps. By applying motor shielding technology to liquid transportation, this series has been developed to meet the needs of the domestic market.
The SPG series is designed in accordance with international standard ISO2858 and national standard JB/T6878.2-93. It features standardized design, high generalization, reasonable structure, stable performance, low noise, and zero vibration. It is an ideal replacement for conventional horizontal centrifugal pumps and vertical pipeline pumps.
The full series includes 67 models and 184 specifications, with performance ranges: flow rate 6.3–108 m³/h, head 12.5–125 m, motor power 0.37–160 kW, and speeds of 1450 r/min and 2900 r/min.
Product Features
1. Compact structure with pump and motor integrated as one unit. The vertical design minimizes installation space and ensures stable operation without alignment.
2. Pump inlet and outlet adopt identical flange specifications positioned on the same centerline, allowing direct installation in pipelines like a valve, ensuring easy piping layout.
3. The pump and motor share one shaft, resulting in shorter axial dimensions, smoother operation, and lower noise.
4. Traditional shaft seals are eliminated, preventing medium leakage and achieving complete leak-free operation.
5. Sliding bearings are used instead of conventional motor rolling bearings, offering ultra-stable operation with extremely low vibration and noise.
6. Easy maintenance—no need to disassemble the pipeline. Removing the connector nuts allows the entire rotor assembly to be withdrawn for inspection and repair.
7. Pumps can be operated in series or parallel to meet various flow rate and head requirements.
Applications
1. **Standard SPG type** is suitable for conveying clean water or liquids similar to clean water (free of solid particles). Medium temperature ≤80°C. Widely used in industrial and municipal water supply, high-rise building pressurization, landscaping irrigation, fire-fighting booster systems, long-distance water transport, HVAC circulation, bathhouse hot/cold water circulation, and equipment matching. Particularly suitable for applications requiring low vibration and noise, such as underground pump rooms and air-conditioning systems.
2. **Hot-water type** is suitable for conveying soft water up to 160°C without solid particles. Ideal for energy, metallurgy, chemical, textile, paper-making, hotels, boilers, and urban heating circulation systems.
3. **Corrosion-resistant type** is suitable for conveying corrosive liquids without solid particles and with viscosity similar to water. Used in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, power, paper-making, food, pharmaceuticals, and synthetic fiber industries.
Operating Conditions
1. Medium must be soft water or other thin, non-solidifying, non-flammable liquids free of solid particles and fibers.
2. Medium temperature: standard type ≤80°C; hot-water type ≤160°C.
3. System working pressure ≤1.2 MPa, inlet pressure ≥0.5 MPa. For special conditions, please consult us in advance.
4. Ambient temperature ≤40°C; relative humidity ≤95%.
Structure Description
This pump integrates the motor and pump into a single structure. The complete unit consists of a pump casing, impeller, connector, sliding bearings, stator, rotor, shielding sleeve, motor housing, and other components.
It is a vertical single-stage, single-suction centrifugal pump. The inlet and outlet are positioned on the same horizontal axis with identical diameters, allowing installation at any point in the pipeline like a valve.
The pump is connected directly with the motor through a coupling body. The bearings are made of imported graphite-impregnated resin composite materials. Both stator and rotor are fully enclosed by shielding sleeves for complete isolation.
The sliding bearings are lubricated and cooled by the pumped medium itself, ensuring reliable operation.
A base is provided for direct installation on the foundation. Due to its low noise and zero vibration, no vibration isolator or pad is required during installation.

Installation Instructions
1. Before installation, check whether any fasteners of the pump unit are loose and whether any foreign objects are blocking the pump casing or flow passage, to avoid damage to the impeller and pump body during operation.
2. The weight of the pipeline should not be supported by the pump. Each section must have its own support to prevent pump deformation, which would affect performance and service life.
3. To prevent impurities from entering the pump and blocking the flow passage, a filter with an area 3–4 times larger than the suction pipe cross-section should be installed in front of the pump inlet.
4. When the pump is used for hot water applications, to avoid thermal deformation stress from the pipeline, the pump base bolts may remain unfixed, allowing the pump and piping to expand and contract together.
5. For easy maintenance and safe operation, install a regulating valve on both the inlet and outlet pipelines, and place a pressure gauge near both the inlet and outlet to ensure operation within the rated range and extend service life.
Maintenance & Care
I. Preparations and checks before startup:
1. Check whether the grounding of the canned motor and starting equipment is complete and reliable, and whether the wiring is correct and connections are firm.
2. For newly installed or long-idle canned motors, check the insulation resistance between the stator windings and ground before use.
3. The pipeline system must be fully filled with the pumped liquid; otherwise, motor life will be affected.
II. Maintenance during operation
1. Record the power supply voltage and voltage imbalance regularly. Excessive or insufficient voltage, or three-phase imbalance, may cause excessive current and motor overheating.
2. Record the load current and imbalance of the pump regularly. Most failures will show as a sudden increase in stator current, leading to overheating.
3. Record the liquid temperature in the pipeline to ensure it does not exceed the rated temperature on the nameplate, preventing long-term over-temperature operation.
4. Record the readings of the inlet and outlet pressure gauges. The inlet pressure must not be below zero. The difference between outlet and inlet pressure must meet the pump’s rated pressure requirement.
5. Exhaust air before each startup, and at least once per week during long-term continuous operation, because long-term stirring creates air accumulation inside the pump.
6. Monitor odor, vibration, and noise. Overheating motor windings may emit a burnt insulation smell. Mechanical issues usually produce vibration and noise. Stop immediately if abnormalities appear.
7. Check the circulation liquid path and filtration device regularly for blockage.

I. Startup & Operation
1. Fill the pump with liquid and exhaust the air. Open the inlet valve so liquid fully fills the pump chamber. Open the vent valve at the motor top, and close it after liquid flows out.
2. Close the outlet valve to reduce starting current.
3. Check all components to ensure normal condition.
4. Switch on the power and confirm the correct rotation direction.
5. Gradually adjust the outlet valve opening to keep the pump operating within its rated performance range.
6. If any abnormal condition appears during operation, stop the pump immediately and inspect.
7. Check if the motor current and temperature rise meet the required limits.
II. Shutdown
1. Close the discharge valve.
2. Cut off the power supply and stop the motor.
3. Close the inlet valve.
4. If the pump will be idle for a long period, drain all liquid from inside the pump.
