Product Overview

The SPG Vertical Clean Water Tank Pipeline Pump adopts advanced design and manufacturing technologies, incorporating tank-mounted motor technology for fluid transportation. This series is designed to meet the domestic market’s needs. The SPG series is designed according to ISO 2858 and JB/T 6878.2-93 standards, featuring standardized design with high interchangeability, reasonable structure, stable performance, low noise, and low vibration. It is an ideal alternative to traditional horizontal centrifugal pumps and vertical inline pumps.
The full range of products includes 67 models and 184 specifications, with performance ranging from Q = 6.3–108 m³/h, H = 12.5–125 m, P = 0.37–160 kW, rotational speeds of 1450 RPM and 2900 RPM.

Engineering Overview

The SPG pump is a vertical, single-stage, single-suction centrifugal pipeline pump with an integrated pump-motor direct-coupling structure. By eliminating traditional shaft seals and using tank-mounted isolation design, it achieves complete sealing on the process side.
The suction and discharge nozzles are aligned on the same horizontal axis with identical diameters, allowing for direct installation into pipeline systems. The pump can be arranged in series or parallel to meet varying flow and head requirements.

Typical Applications

The SPG series is divided into three types based on medium and temperature conditions:

  • Standard Type: Suitable for clean water or aqueous liquids without solid particles, with a medium temperature ≤ 80°C. Widely used in industrial and municipal water supply, high-rise building pressure boosting, landscape irrigation, fire-fighting system strengthening, long-distance water supply, HVAC circulation, hot and cold water cycles, and equipment support. Particularly ideal for low-noise and low-vibration environments, such as underground pump rooms and air conditioning systems.

  • Hot Water Type: Suitable for soft water without solid particles, with medium temperature ≤ 160°C. Used in energy, metallurgy, chemical, textile, paper, hotel, boiler, and district heating systems.

  • Corrosion-Resistant Type: Used for corrosion-resistant liquids without solid particles and with a viscosity close to that of water. Applied in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, power generation, paper, food, pharmaceutical, and synthetic fiber industries.

System Components

The device integrates the pump and motor into a single structure. Key components include the pump casing, impeller, coupling connector, sliding bearings, stator, rotor, can sleeve, and motor housing. The bracket and rotor are fully enclosed in the can sleeve for full isolation. The sliding bearings are made from graphite-impregnated resin composite materials and are lubricated and cooled by the pumped medium.

Operating Conditions

  • Medium: Must be soft water or other thin liquids, free from solid particles or fibers; non-flammable and non-soluble.

  • Medium Temperature:

    • Standard Type: ≤80°C

    • Hot Water Type: ≤160°C

  • System Working Pressure: ≤1.2 MPa; Inlet Pressure ≥0.5 MPa (special conditions consult).

  • Ambient Temperature: ≤40°C

  • Relative Humidity: ≤95%

  • Special Requirements: If installed at altitudes over 1000 meters, please specify at the time of order for proper configuration. For specific temperature or medium requirements, please provide detailed information when ordering.

Service Conditions

Regular inspection of the pump’s sealing system, impeller, and bearing assembly is recommended to ensure efficient and safe operation.

Protection Features

The SPG pump is equipped with multiple protection features, including overcurrent protection, temperature monitoring, and liquid level protection systems, ensuring the pump can stop operating in abnormal conditions to prevent damage to the equipment.

Selection Standards

When selecting the appropriate pump model, consider factors such as the temperature of the media, pH value, solid particle size, and the required flow and head of the pump, ensuring the selection of the most suitable configuration.

Operating Manual

Installation Instructions

  1. Before installation, check for any loose fasteners or foreign objects blocking the pump casing or flow passage to prevent damage to the impeller and pump body.

  2. The pump should not support the weight of the pipeline. Each section of the pipeline must have its own support to avoid pump deformation, which could impact performance and lifespan.

  3. To prevent debris from entering and blocking the pump, install a filter in front of the pump inlet, ensuring its area is 3-4 times larger than the suction pipe cross-section.

  4. For hot water applications, avoid thermal deformation stress in the pipeline by leaving the pump base bolts unfixed, allowing the pump and piping to expand and contract together.

  5. For safe operation and easy maintenance, install regulating valves on both the inlet and outlet pipelines, and position pressure gauges near both to ensure operation within the rated range and extend the pump’s service life.

Maintenance & Care

I. Preparations and Checks Before Startup:

  1. Ensure proper grounding of the canned motor and starting equipment, and check that wiring and connections are firm and correct.

  2. For newly installed or long-idle canned motors, check the insulation resistance between the stator windings and ground before operation.

  3. Fully fill the pipeline system with the pumped liquid before startup to avoid negative effects on motor life.

II. Maintenance During Operation:

  1. Regularly monitor the power supply voltage and voltage imbalance. Excessive or insufficient voltage, or phase imbalance, may lead to excessive current and motor overheating.

  2. Track the load current and imbalance of the pump. Most failures will manifest as sudden increases in stator current, leading to overheating.

  3. Regularly check the liquid temperature in the pipeline to ensure it does not exceed the rated temperature on the nameplate, preventing over-temperature operation.

  4. Record the inlet and outlet pressure readings. The inlet pressure should not fall below zero, and the difference between the outlet and inlet pressure should meet the rated pressure requirements of the pump.

  5. Vent the pump before each startup, and at least once a week during long-term continuous operation, to expel air accumulated inside the pump due to constant stirring.

  6. Monitor for abnormal odors, vibrations, and noise. Overheating motor windings may emit a burnt insulation smell, and mechanical issues may cause vibration and noise. Stop immediately if abnormalities are detected.

  7. Check the circulation liquid path and filtration device regularly for blockages.

  8. Periodically inspect the clearance between the graphite bearing and the shaft sleeve to ensure uniform clearance between the stator and rotor shielding sleeves.

  9. Regularly check the clearance between the impeller wear ring and pump casing. If it exceeds 1.5 mm under normal conditions, replace the impeller. In special cases, repair methods may be used.


Operation & Running

I. Startup & Operation

  1. Fill the pump with liquid and exhaust the air. Open the inlet valve to ensure the pump chamber is fully filled with liquid. Open the vent valve at the top of the motor and close it once the liquid flows out.

  2. Close the outlet valve to reduce the starting current.

  3. Check all components to ensure they are in normal condition.

  4. Turn on the power and verify the motor rotates in the correct direction.

  5. Gradually adjust the outlet valve opening to maintain operation within the pump’s rated performance range.

  6. If any abnormalities occur during operation, immediately stop the pump and inspect.

  7. Check the motor’s current and temperature rise to ensure they are within the required limits.

II. Shutdown

  1. Close the discharge valve.

  2. Cut off the power supply and stop the motor.

  3. Close the inlet valve.

  4. If the pump will be idle for a long period, drain all liquid from the pump to prevent damage.
